Here's my truck. John Deer Blitz Black

I just recently had my truck painted and had a bed liner sprayed in. I decdided to go with John Deer Blitz black (tractor paint.) I didn't have the money to do a show quailty paint job and I didn't want to ride around wtih that chalky primer look so I settled for the $35 tractor paint. I figured if it's tough enough for a tractor it should hold up pretty well on my truck... Until I get gloss at least. Hope you like it! Comments welcome!

What do you think of the grille? Tried something I have never seen before.

The mirror holes just got shaved today and the doors were repainted, I thought it looked a little cleaner.

Tailgate band is being painted now so I'll post more pictures with it later.

Love everything about it. The paint, grille. That's the kind of paint look I want on my truck, and I'm in the same situation as you. The paint on my truck is actually tractor paint as well, but it's chipped and scratched and I want a flatter look; since I'm never gonna be able to attain that professional gloss look (without a lot of money and help) anyway.

Re: Here's my truck. John Deer Blitz Black

Hey thanks for all the comments guys! I dont have a shiney dime to spend on my truck so I just do what I can. I got the paint from a John Deere Dealership for $35 per gallon. It took right at a gallon to shoot the whole truck. I believe you can also purchase it online.

I have a question for yall.

Should I put these 20s on my truck?

I dont really want to mess with the suspension to much because you have to slow down for every speed bump ya know. We messured out the 20s with tires and overall they should hit right below the fender which would fill up the whole fender well really nice and I think that might eliminate having to drop it. What do you think?

I think those wheels, along with the flat black, would look really nice. I say go for it.

Re: Here's my truck. John Deer Blitz Black

Thanks for all the comments guys. I've always wanted to design a vehicle and finally got my chance. This weekend I am having the tailgate band painted and installed as well as a custom interior.

I want my center console to have a built in 12" sub, laptop, and HANDS FREE cell phone capabilities which will play directly though my stereo and speakers.

I have black cloth bucket seats for now.

NO CARPET! Black Polyvinyl intead! Less smell, dirt, easy to clean, etc.

Still undecided on the 20s but I'm leaning towards Yes. Only thing is I wont be able to burnout as much cuz those tires i hear are pretty pricey.

What would you all think of a back and copper interior instead of black and burshed aluminum? I have brushed aluminum now but thought about doing a copper them since I have never seen one.

I had it done at a body shop. It's like a $2,000 paint job, not just a do it yourselfer so it was sprayed and I dont know what he mixed with it but I can ask.

Oh and I just bought some black marine grade vinyl today to wrap my headliner, center console, and maybe my doors.

Still undecided on the copper accessories instead of bruhed aluminum....?

would copper be a hassel to keep up. like what i mean is would the copper get dirty or old looking quickly ..
and if you do decide to go with the copper let me know if you want to sell your old interior.

Re: Here's my truck. John Deer Blitz Black

Well it wouldn't be actual copper. I would paint the brushed aluminum with a copper color and give the appearance of REAL copper. Your right, real copper may turn green and be really hard to clean and may also require a clear coat on it.

Not sure if I will stick with the idea but I've never seen it done before so I'm leaning on it pretty hard. I figured I would go with copper accessories with black vinyl and maybe ostrich skin accent as well. Still not sure.

Re: Here's my truck. John Deer Blitz Black

is it legal to drive around with your license plate blacked out like that? Grille looks tough as hell. Nice truck! Drop it and go for the 20's.

I would drop it 2/3 and put 20x9's on it, but thats just my opinion. Btw I love JD paint, my dad works for a dealer and he buys it all the time.
