Re: c20 stake bed of flat bed?

i agree but i don't want to mess the truck up when i work it. i haul trees and pull trailers with it. a log dropped out of the bucket and dented the tailgate. made me very upset

Re: c20 stake bed of flat bed?

You can find a stake bed off of some C-30 trucks. 8 feet was the optimum length. Or just make one...my truck had a home made stake bed..blasted thing just created more cab dents then you can count though! LOL!

Re: c20 stake bed of flat bed?

The 283 was a great truck engine. It won't be a super fast truck, but it'll be fine...I'd convert to a better tranny though..maybe something more like an SM465 4 speed trans...Or a non-over drive 5 speed would be a good choice.

Re: c20 stake bed of flat bed?

GoOd to know that my motor is good in a truck! I will agree on the Trans tho!!! But for now I am tight for cash so I will go with a three speed. I would like to put a spicer 5 in it from 1963. Or maybe an Od tranny. What you think? I would like to have lots of torque. I have 16.5 tires on it but will soon upgrade to the original 17.5 with a ply of 6. My current ply on my 16.5s is 8. It is for sure a work truck. Wish she wasn't tho!
