Re: direct fit bench seats

The 88 to 94 seats fit well side to side, can be run with the stock tank location, are a thinner construction to build from to get more room between you and the wheel and the front holes of the slider assemblies are a direct bolt in. Just have to drill the rears and through bolt with a body washer or weld in a captured nut.

Re: direct fit bench seats

My friend gave me the seat from his 69-72 Suburban and it fit the stock holes. I suppose the pickup to be the same.

Hmm. I might have to see if I can bum a seat from someone with a 67-72 truck to test fit. It seems I read somewhere that you could unbolt the mounts from a 60-66 seat and bolt them to a 67-72 seat to make it a bolt in but never heard they bolted in directly.

Re: direct fit bench seats

So a 60-72...will bolt right in..maybe have to swap the brackets and an 88-94 but will have to drill new back holes.
Should be easy enough then to find a pre 72 seat

Re: direct fit bench seats

Why do you need to swap it? Do you not have one right now? I'm going to just have mine rebuilt and add the seat heaters they sell from LMC to both sides for the extra comfort.

Re: direct fit bench seats

The passenger side back support is broken. Needs to be rewelded. Plus it will need new foam and all that. I haven't priced getting a seat redone but seems like something that is expensive.

Re: direct fit bench seats

I'm looking at '99-'04 silverado seats because they have built-in three point belts. Does anyone know if they will work with stock gas tank? I'm running a seat out of a Ford conversion pickup now and the center arm rest won't fold down with the stock tank.

Re: direct fit bench seats

I had my seat redone in white vinyl black pipeing had broken springs for $300. Of course leather is more. You would probably need to recover replacement seats anyways.
