1964 Chevrolet K20 hub rebuild

Hey,
Ive got a 64 K20 and the front hubs are worn. the drivers side engages every once in awhile and the passenger side doesnt engage at all.
I was wondering if i could just rebuild these instead of buying new aftermarket hubs.
Also how do you get the hubs out? from the looks of it their must be some kind of locking ring?

Do the lockouts turn, and nothing happens? Or do they not turn?
Either way, there should be 6 bolts holding them on. Take them off and see what you can find on the inside. The guts should turn smoothly when not installed, and you'll be able to see the mechanisms move.

Re: 1964 Chevrolet K20 hub rebuild

They turn and go 360. the driver side sometimes engages but only every once in a while. I pulled the tires off and spun the hubs. The driver side would turn the drive shaft but only when it happens to engage. the passenger side i couldnt get to engage at all and never spun the drive shaft. That was awhile ago and dont remember if it had the 6 bolts, would that be behind the brake hardware?
I thought i heard somewhere that some had the 6bolts and some had retaining clips of something like that?
