I need to order windhield weatherstripping for my 71 K10, but dont know what the diffrence is. LMC lists one for 67-70, and 71-72. I do have the stainless trim and want to use it, but am not sure what year the trim is from, and also not sure what year the windshield is from. I assume thats the diffrence in the weatherstip?

Evidently there is a difference in the trim. On a different site, with no trim the rubber is listed as fitting 67-72. With trim it is listed as "67-70, Accepts stainless trim" and "71-72, Accepts stainless trim". That would indicate to me that there is a difference in the trim on them.

On the 71-72 the part of the trim that fits into the grove on the rubber is alot shallower maybe 1/2 in verses nearly maybe 1 in. The 71-72 is alot easier to install that the 67-70, so if you need both the trim and the rubber I would get the 71-72 stuff.

Jason has it right as the 71-72 channel is 3/8" deep and the 67-70 is 3/4" deep and a pain to get in around the corners. You can't tell the difference from the outside so if I get a chance to buy NOS w/s I prefer to buy 71-72 style. Mark

so the windshields are all the same? I think I took the trim off of a 69 gmc, but cant remember for sure. I'll have to look at the trim closer.

Would it be worth it to just have a glass shop put it in? I was going to try it myself but dont want to damage the windshield.

The general concensus is to have the pro's do it. Alot of people that attempt it break their windshield. At least if the glass shop does it, it's on their dollar.

I like using the earlier setup if talking new repro trim or gasket, it seems to stay put/seated alot better.

I have to agree with Classic Bowties. It seats in the rubber better.
