Can't find horn contact part numbers

After hours and hours of troubleshooting and research, I've finally solved my horn issues. But I need 2 pieces and can't find them anywhere online. I can touch a wire from inside the turn signal cancel cam hole to the center of the column and my horn honks, as expected, I'm just missing a couple of pieces. Anyone have any ideas?

a) Horn Contact Ring (Mine is broken)
b) Brass Horn Contact / Plunger / Rod / Thingy? (Completely missing)

My current situation:

The part I need:

Try the help section at the parts store.

You can get a original turn signal switch here.

if you look at the first pic near the bottom, there is a brass looking spring inside the housing. That could be your spring and button that fell out.

I actually don't need the turn signal switch, and none of the turn signal switches come with the brass pin that rides underneath the horn contact ring. However, I did find the horn contact ring at classicparts, something I haven't been able to find anywhere else. Now I just need that brass pin.

I'm not sure what that spring came from, it seems too small to work as the plunger spring. I didn't find any button down inside of there, though.

For the record I'm using a newer GM steering wheel and therefore won't be using the original style horn cup kit. Like this... (I'm just missing that plunger UNDERNEATH the horn contact ring.

Wait what? I replaced my turn signal switch last month and it had the brass contact. Where are you getting yours? They all come with one.

You must be talking about the replacement cancellation piece that has the two cancel spring's that are at most auto parts stores.

And it also looks like you have a tilt column... this is the correct switch assembly. They all have the horn contact pre installed.

Re: Can't find horn contact part numbers

Sorry about that, I must have been looking at the wrong part. Tried to edit my post afterwards but it was too late! I'd hate to replace the whole turn signal switch when all I really need is the brass contact. Mine is a non-tilt column, some of the pictures above aren't mine, just found them on the forum while searching. Is there a spring underneath that brass contact?

That's alright man, sadly though the only way I see it when that button wears out is to replace the whole turn signal switch. Its not exactly "original" but it is a original reproduction which is nice.

If you want, here's the switch for non tilt columns.

Re: Can't find horn contact part numbers

I gotcha. Is that button spring loaded? Seems to me like it would/should be.

Yeah, it is. You could try taking it apart and getting a new longer spring. Either way its the spring that is worn out. I was trying to fix this exact problem and it turned out its get a completely new turn signal switch or replace the worn out spring behind the brass contact. It was better in the long run to get a completely new turn signal switch.
