ride height for looks and usability?

ive been working on what i want to do tire/wheel and ride height...im going to go with 18's but i dont want super thin sidewalls and i dont plan on dragging it on the ground. i do want to get close to filling up the wheel wells. what does it mean 4/6 drop? 4 in front 6 in back? best achieved with drop spindles and lower springs or air bags? i plan on using this for work which means i could have close to 500 lbs in the rear at times. im also going to use it to tow at times. air bags in rear to compensate for loads? anyone use their trucks like this? i dont even know where to start here...any thoughts would be appreciated...thanks.....oops forgot to mention this is for my just aquired burb. i have pics of it on earlier post but i dont know how to link to it from here.
