CPP rotors

So I finnaly got my new springs and six lug rotors from CPP. It took a month, and when I finnaly get my stuff I find that there are no bearings on the face of the Earth to fit the rear of the rotors. I can get them that fit the race but not my spindle. The only ones I found that fit my spindle are either 1/16" smaller or 1/16" larger than the race. What do I do? Anyone else have this problem?

Most bearings have two or three different races that will fit, so you may have to go and see if the parts store can find you some that will work.

If you get hung out to dry too long, send them back and order Early Classics 6 lug rotors. They use common 71-87 truck bearings.

I called CPP and they tried to tell me that something was wrong with my spindles.I couldnt really make them understand my problem.I even went to a bearing warehouse and we tried every bearing known. Is there a big price difference with the Early Classic rotors?

This might be a dumb question,But, here goes.You are not trying to put rotors on drum brake spindles are you!! If you are,they won't work.You need disc brake spindles!

you should have checked the REviews forum - so many people in this forum have gotten screwed by CPP it's not funny. at this point, ECE is a little pricier than some others, but their support is impeccable, they always ship all the parts you need (even pre-bent brake lines) and their support and service is great. i'll hafta second Tx's recommendation.

I suspect you're using light duty spindles on your 86 front end. There were both heavy and light brakes that year. The aftermarket rotors that ECE, CPP, and others sell are for heavy duty brakes only.

If you do have light duty spindles, you're going to have to replace your spindles with heavy duty spindles to make the aftermarket rotors work.

The way to tell is the measure the thickness of your old 86 model rotors. The heavy duty brakes are 1 1/4 inches thick, light duty are 1 inch thick.

Outer wheel bearing for either heavy or light is an 'A3'. Inner bearing for heavy duty brakes is an 'A5', for light duty brakes is an 'A6'. Those numbers cross reference to any common bearing brand sold in any parts store.
