Re: 1967 c10 custom camper project
Nice find! get it running! My 72 Blazer sat for about 17 years in a hay field, I pulled the drain plug out of the oil pan and about 3 gallons of water drained out..expecting the worst, I dumped some old oil through the engine, put a new oil and filter plugs wires coil and cap and some fresh gas and the old 350 fired right up on about the 5th crank, it never missed a beat and is still running today and that was 5 years ago!

Re: 1967 c10 custom camper project
Ok so the truck is dedicated to my little sister who passed away a couple months ago. She picked the colors every thing. I am 19 she was 14. This truck and everything I am doing is all for her. I pulled the truck out of the woods today and have some pics

Re: 1967 c10 custom camper project
BATH lol, new front window... oil up the mechanisms in the doors... complete all the missing trim... clean the trim, get new headlights, all new bulbs for all the lights, remove the aftermarket marker lights, clean all windows and make sure all the gauges work and electrics get a tailgate. ( but i would do this after you got the truck runing with all new oil, gas oil filter, fuel filter tires and trannsmision fluid if its an automatic, and new gear oil for the rear axle)

Re: 1967 c10 custom camper project
Good looking truck. Hang on to those Custom Campers emblems they are not reproduce, and are very hard to find. If the marker lights on the sides are original then you probable have a 68, check your vin# it will tell you year and were it was built. It looks like you have 8 lug wheels that would make it a C/20, 3/4 ton. You will find as you do repairs more things will need attention before you can move on. Take lots of pictures as you take things apart so you can reference them when you put things back together, and bag and label all of the parts so you know were they go. Good luck and have fun with your new ride.

Re: 1967 c10 custom camper project
Hey man very sorry to hear about your sister. It's awesome that you're doing this for her and it will be a very special truck.
That's a really cool '67 you have and for a sweet price as well. I'm also 19 and have been working on a '67 stepside for over 2 years now and hoping to finish it up this summer. Looking forward to the progress! |

Man I can only imagine losing one of my sisters. I am only son. But your sister would be proud of you for building such a cool truck. Have fun with it and dont give up on it. You got a real keeper. Alot of knowledge on this board so ask and dont be shy.
