Stupid Question

Ok. Yes,I'm new I noticed today that my '84 GMC 2500 has a clutch pedal, only problem is it's an automatic. The option sticker on the firewall says it came with a 4 speed auto w/ overdrive. It also has a hole that is covered where the gearshift goes. As far as I know the truck never had a manual transmission. Is this common or do I have a wierd one on my hands?

Re: Stupid Question

These trucks are old enough that many things have often been changed on them to suit the owners they have had over the years or to repair damage. The sticker may not go with the truck. The transmission may have been changed a few times. The pedals could have been changed over from another truck. The cab may even have been swapped at some point. You just never know.
