Any body have to bend there sending unit?

So I just recently got a new tank and sending unit from summit.The sending unit is slightly different from the old one.Can I slightly bend it to fit?As you can tell from the picture the old unit is slightly different than the new one.IMG_20191221_152119.jpg

I also noticed a few differences with tank so I'm hoping they didn't send the wrong tank.IMG_20191221_153155.jpg

When I put a new sender in my truck, I bent the lever arm so that the gauge would read correctly.

I don't think you could bent that line without messing it up. Does it not fit the new tank?

I would think if the new tank fits the space then you could use it.

There must be hundreds of these tanks laying around including two from a 66 in my shed I'd like to get rid of. Too bad we don't have transporter technology yet.

I got it in there.I guess it must be these parts being mass made in a foreign country.Oh well can't complain to much at least it's easy to get parts for a c10.
