1968 Rear Leaf Spring Bushings Help!?

I have a ‘68 K20 that I’m just trying to get back on the road. I cannot for the life of me find a set of leaf spring bushings to fit the wider rear springs. I’ve been on the phone with places like Energy suspension, MOOG, and a handful of random spring shops folks have recommended.

I’m looking for someone who has an actual part number for something that will work. Surely there’s a bushing out there for something else that will fit these trucks.

For those unaware, the 67/68 rear springs were 3.25” at the eyes. When you order a “kit” to fit 67-72 pickups and you have these wider rear springs, none of the kits will work.

Do you have an old fashioned spring shop close by that still makes springs? I'm sure they would be of help to you.

See the receipt Clay posted in his build thread here:

He and I have 67 K20's and just redid the springs.

Ok, I'm looking at it trying to figure out which one is the one you need, and not sure. I do know the RB-117 is what we used in the Shackles.

Maybe it's the RB-98, check the dimensions. That's GM PN 3887751 also.

Here's a snip from the GM Parts Catalog. You can still get 3887751 from the dealers.

I’m going to try a set of the rb98. Those dimensions seem to be correct.

I also used the RB98 bushings but had to trim some off the ends to fit hangers then put the notches back in with a cut off wheel on my K1500. I also used the RB117's in the shackles.

67KM1590 it's funny you mention that. I ground the nubs off the ends of the bushings to narrow them up a little too. I should get one of the 3887751 from the dealer to see if they are as wide.

Re: 1968 Rear Leaf Spring Bushings Help!?

The rb98 bushings fixed me right up. I really appreciate the help. That little project had me hung up for a few days. I had to grind the nubs down as well. No biggie. Thanks all!
