Alternator placement on a '70?

Attached are pictures of how my alternator is currently mounted. When my dad got this truck, it had an aftermarket air conditioner -which has been removed- but since then, it's been kinda' questionable as to just how the accessory belts should run. I'd like to put it to stock.

Almost every Chevy that I see of this vintage has the alternator on the passenger side, and though it doesn't look like the wiring's been modified to move it to the driver's side, I question it. Particularly since the upper radiator hose directly contacts the top bracket for the alternator and I have to keep a piece of rubber between them to prevent problems.

Anyone able to look at that belt setup and tell me how -or if- it differs from the way God and Chevrolet intended?

P.S. Please excuse my dirty engine bay.

the passenger side mount is a 73 & up truck set up, or a 70 and up car mounting set up.
