S10 V8 swap question?
I am doing an s10 frame swap on my 52 and I notice that almost every one builds their own motor mounts. Can you just use the s10 v8swap mounts available at summit or whatever?
Thanks |

Re: S10 V8 swap question?
you can but:
you have to turn them around, in an s10 the conversion mounts move the engine forward, but with a 47-55 swap you need to move the engine rearward, so you flip them to move the engine back. it doesnt move the engine quite enough, only about 4.5 inches, you will need 6-7 inches to run an engine fan. you can run an electric, but it adds money and complexity.

What I used. Recessed my motor about 2" into the firewall. Not sure if you're using a small block or an LS. I thought this kit was decent for the money, considering the urethane bushings. And I didn't have drill press at the time. |
