F/S 1967-72 Drivers side door

Can't upload photos so I am showing link to Ebay listing

http://www.ebay.com/itm/321609342194...84.m1555.l2649
This is an original GM survivor part.
I believe this is a 1967 door (different handle mounting angle
(it can be drilled out to use later model handles)- I purchased this as part of a matched set and ended up only using the passenger side.
As you can see from the pictures it is in almost perfect condition except for two small tears in the sheet metal- one on the inside channel near where the vent window installs- and the other on the door jamb near where the window loop meets the main body- both easy fixes with a mig/tig and they wouldn't show in any case.

I know from my own experience that these are hard to find and considering all the reproductions have fitting issues I believe $260 plus shipping is fair. BUT I could be wrong- please feel free to enlighten me as I haven't kept up with current prices.

Re: F/S 1967-72 Drivers side door

What would need to be drilled to make it work on a 70? I would like a shipping quote to 46562 please. I will take it pending answers.

Thanks,
Mark

Mark,
All you need to do is "hog out" the mounting holes as the 67 style handle mounts have an angle and the 68-72 mounts are flat- I did it to the other (passenger side) door and it worked out fine for me. The big issue is shipping- I'd need to wrap the door with cardboard (to give it some minor protection and something to put your address on)- and ship it via greyhound. Looks like the nearest to you Bus depot that handles freight is in Ft. Wayne- for me is Rochester NY- I'm figuring the door at 40 lbs. and the Greyhound estimate is about $70. Add in my time and 50 mile round trip for me to put it on the bus---- I'd say all in for you is $360. BTW to be fair to me if I get a bid on Ebay before I get thumbs up from you I'd have to add any $$ bid over the $260 it's listed for.......PM me and Let me know if you are still interested.
Phil

Re: F/S 1967-72 Drivers side door

Phil, I have a couple more questions before I pull the trigger. Did you apply the primer or was it like that when you got it (what does it look like under the primer)? Also, has it been welded in the upper hinge area? It looks like in the one pic that it has been.

Thanks,
Mark

Mark primer was on before I got it. I know its epoxy primer as I tested it before I painted the driver's side door. The door looks excellent as far as metal condition goes- only two little tears as described before. I do not think it was welded in hinge area- I can send more pics to an email address if you like.
