Post this thing is not meant to run

first it was a pilot shaft bearing, then it was my freind not tightening the clutch before moving the alignment tool, then the free auto tranny turned out to be a 2wd one, then the startor wouldnt work, now its the little ball that screws into the side of the motor!!!!! i sereosly think theres a reason my 4wd wasnt together when i bought it....
all we needs that little ball....

Blue....
Are you asking for that piece that mounts
to a SBC engine...that the z-bar connects
to? I have one from a 3-speed....if you
can use it, you can have it....just ask
for shipping, (which shouldnt be too much)
Let me know....I recently pulled a 3-speed
out to put an auto in.

whats wierd is that he cant use the correct 2 bolt bracket with the pivot ball attached to it, the frame pivot bracket on the top of frame rail on his is aligned with one of the two threaded holes of the block for the pivot ball bracket, either the engine is misplaced to far fore or aft or the frame pivot bracket is the wrong one, IE is a 6 cyl one, etc, also if he had 6 cyl frame mount trees then the engine would sit up to high.

some time si odnt bolt the pressure palte assemblt to the flywheel until the tranny is connected ot engine, sometimes that is easier to do, especially on 4x4 vehicles, then the plate will be aligned for sure, hehe
i just stick the plate assembly and thne the disc on the input shaft of tranny and then mate engine to tranny, and bolt the 6 plate bolts to the flywheel later on. wish i was down there right now, we oculd get it going

good luck

Bubba Green- can you get my a picture of the peice you have?
Huck-nope wouldnt work , ive already told Randy about it and he explained it right. the bracket on frame is lined up perfect with the front hole for the bracket you gave me. i put just a bolt in the motor and treid that just to see if it was lined up like that. freind said it was the same kind they used on race cars that i needed, they bolt straight into the block. im going to try something after while, might work might not but........

The 4 x 4 does sit in 6 cyl position with a V8.....thats factory. The smallblock in my longhorn is set in 6 cyl position. When I ran a stick ,I used a screw in pivot ball.....in the foward hole in the block. If you go look at 73 up V8 stick trucks, you should be able to pirate the pivot ball. As far as sittin too high on 6cyl mounts....NO,if any diff, it sits a little low on the nose......69 longhorn.
