Picked up a new toy...
its a 1986 454 1 ton dually with hydroboosted brakes. it has 33xxx miles on it (probably 133xxx) and is really nice condition for the year/miles. just wondering, what would some of you expect to pay for something like this?
I have already replaced/adjusted the rear brakes, but anyways heres some pics. I gave it a good wash and need to buff it out but this is what it should look like when done (current picture the truck is still wet) and everything works on this truck besides it is missing the A/C compressor and lines. everything else works. power windows and door locks. runs and drives fine other than the front brakes dragging a little bit. I need to cut that bumper off too! Thanks again guys. |

Thanks! Yea, I need to buff it out and maybe it'll look like that for a while, not just until it dries. other than the few oil leaks here and there it seems strong, runs, idles just fine.
hit the gas and all 4 tires out back just spin until you want them to stop. |

Looks good. Always liked red. That back bumper does look pretty rough. I'd fix the leaks and drive it. I'd say... 3500?

Re: Picked up a new toy...
I've contemplated dropping it but i'm afraid that i just wouldnt be happy with it afterwords. And I don't want to bag it.
I was considering doing a cowl hood (heres a link to one I made a couple years ago for my old 1985 K5 Blazer) I would build it from scratch just like last time. What do ya think? |

That truck is nice no matter what direction you want to go with it. As for that hood mod, I wish I had taken the time to learn skills like that !!

Yep, water on a paint job really makes it look great. Just like if you just put on three coats of clear. Will look really sharp when you are done. Good find.
