Maybe in the 14's...without a posi and a good launch, who knows...TRAP SPEED is more important to me.

Eric, good luck. have fun and dont break anything!

Tim, try to argue with someone at the try about why you lost the race even though your trap speed was higher.

when it gets tuned right, holley says that the systemax kit will make 425hp.

i'm guessing mine should be right around there, give or take 10/15hp?

i'm betting that when it gets tuned right, and i get good tires and gears, it should run low 13's

You better get into the 15 or else I'm right behind you.
Launch on the last yellow light!! Leaving RMP should be about 1000 RPMs or just about to break loose on the tires. What the rearend ratio? Do a manual shift 1-2 or just take on in 2nd. Just be at max RPMs at the 1/8 or 1/4.

Do they say...425hp at the Fly wheel or is that rwhp. Cuz, I think its at the flywheel rating. With a good tune and wat not I'd say High 300's in hp. Like 385 maybe? And goodness....get some 3.73's or 4.10s LOL. That 2.73 is bad. Some gears would rly spruce it up alot. I'd say Mid 14's Low Low 15's. Those gears are gunan hold ya back Also..Where do u live again?

You should be good for 14's.....my Blazer ran a 14.6 @ 93 mph

it's a 355 with vortec heads, smaller cam than yours and a 600 holley. Plus I've got some weight on ya also. Only thing really helping me are the 4.10's

anyways...good luck and have fun, that first run down the track is a BLAST!!

I recently took my truck to the strip with the new ZZ430 and with 3.73 gears and too much wheelspin ran a 14.2 @ 100 MPH. Problem is mostly the gearing in that I went thru the traps at around only 4,500 RPM's.

Engine not broken in yet, still fine tuning, and will go back when 4.10 gears are in. Truck weighs 4,150 pounds.

So, these trucks are heavy and need at least 4.10's to do anything and that is still not enough.

Your gears are going to kill you off the line...I would leave at about 1200-1300 RPM. Also, make sure your seat belts are installed and work, battery is down tight (if it is relocated, make sure you have a visible off/on switch out back somewhere), you need to have an overflow for the radiator, make sure you have all lug nuts on, and make sure your truck doesn't leak fluids. You will also need a helmet in case you don't have one.

With all that being said, since it is your first time and because of your gears...I would bet mid to high 14's.

Factory tint? wtf....I ahve never heard of nhra needed car/trucks that race to have factory tint. Most local track are VERY easy to work with. Seat belts, one working brake light, headlights, roll cage if needed depending on the time, stuff like that. And most track dont even req. u to wear a helmet if ur over like 12's. Trust me...theyh wont care if u have tint or not.

DAM!!! I though our track was strict lol. Thats tons of rules. Down here at Penwell our 1/4 mile traucki. 11.00 or less..Helmet and Roll cage, T-Tops must be clamped down at all times..if not u wear a helmet. Driveshaft loops arent required. Pretty much you go there...line up and race. If ur 12 or less and/or have T-Top's....u dont need anything but youself in the drivers seat

Eric, I really think you are blowing this way out of proportion. Those rules would apply to a NHRA sanctioned event. The most you should need is working head/tail lights, brake lights and a seat belt. So just go and have fun and blow a few mustanks away. PS: Be sure she gets some good video.
