my 1969 chevy 2 ton

Now I know I have gotten a few trucks and i seem to be collecting more projects than i have time for but i got another one. A 1969 Chevy 2 ton. and mate she is pretty, been sitting 30 years behind a small town gmc dealership, i found an awesome find. was a pain to get her as we almost had the box go right though the shed beside it as we where taking it off, but it is very pretty.

That's very neat! Looks all original. Did you get the other mirror with it? Got more pictures?

Do you know about the "Heavy Haulers" forum on this site? It's in this group of message boards if you scroll down. That area is dedicated to trucks over 1t. Lots of support there. Getting to be a great internet resource for GM Medium-Heavy Duty Trucks. Also, there are picture threads you should post your picture in.

Re: my 1969 chevy 2 ton

I did not get her with an engine or trans sadly, but planning on putting ether a cummins first gen or a crate ls, unless i get a easy cheap motor somewhere, and trans i have no idea yet. need new floor but otherwise she looks so nice. the frame is prefect from what i have seen and i love it very much, going to flat bed her.

getting her home was a battle and when taking off the box almost had it fall over on the building on the side.

Cool truck. Was it a v8 truck or did it have the 292?

(I think the badge reads c40 right? = 1 1/2 ton rating)

Flatbed and a 12 valve would be pretty skookum.

Re: my 1969 chevy 2 ton

She was a factory v8 and 2 ton, it does have badges c40, but this was the year before vin and badges had to mean the same every time. also came with power steering to handle the v8 and heavy load, was a box truck from the start

I don't mean to come off as a jerk, but after watching your video I have one question. Did you really tow that truck home using those little tie down straps? If so, please get some chains or even a set of #12,000 straps next time so that you don't lose something off the trailer and kill someone. If DOT sees that set up, you're in for some pretty stiff fines.

Again, not trying to be a jerk, but it's not fair when someone else dies because you lost something off the trailer due to improper tie-downs.

Re: my 1969 chevy 2 ton

I agree. I didn't see adequate tie down on that either.

C40's are fairly common up here.
