4x4 tire question

This may be a retarded question but, what is the difference between lets say the irok and irok radial or tsl and tsl radial?

Re: 4x4 tire question

The plain irok and tsl's are bias ply, the iroc radial and tsl radial are like they say radials...

Re: 4x4 tire question

and in case you didnt know, bias ply is older rougher riding technology, and radials are squishy and ride better, and supposedly are easier to balance (ive never attempted to balance a bias ply)

Re: 4x4 tire question

Interco varies the treads on the Swamper series a bit between TSL,SSR,IROK,and TRXUS.The last two are more aggressive,as in open. The TSL is the forefather of them all and the basis of the series,a great mud and all around tire.SSRs are made to be best on the hiway out of the rest. But,by no means a turd off road.I see very minor differences between any of them, personally. With whatever difference mostly showing when new and less as they wear.I prefer the SSRs since they are the most roadworthy. They are awesome in the mud!!

Re: 4x4 tire question

FWIW, the only thing I don't really care for with bias ply is that they'll flat spot after sitting a while. Makes for a rough ride for the first few miles until they round back out. Great in the mud though & you don't have to worry about breaking a belt.

Really depends on how much road vs. trail use your rig sees. I don't go off road much anymore so my next set will be radials.
