Bench Seats, Having them Reupholstered

I have several Bench Seats from the 80's, they have the holes in the seat for the seatbelts and the adjuster is on the front.

So my plan is to have the seats recovered, in black vinyl. As I find and salvage more bench seats, if someone has a style & color choice, I can to do that. All seats will be done with OEM colors & styles. The 2nd pic, is actually a photo of my seat that was done.

And this what you will get:

1) New upholstery in OEM styles & colors.
2) New hinge garnishes & new seat belt hole garnishes. New screws for the hinge garnish.
3) Seat rails will be removed to be restored (sanded & repainted). And the slides lubed.
4) All broken springs, if any, will be replaced with new springs.
5) New foam if needed or requested.

Now for the shipping. I can ship with FedEx or UPS. You can check for yourself for your location. My zip is 43311. The seat info would be 70 LBS at 61"x28"x16"

Re: Bench Seat, Having it Reupholstered

This seat is nearly completed. I still need to get it back together, put all the garnishes on and put the seat rails back on. Seat rails have been restored too.

I will post pics of it again, when it's back together. But here's what it looks like now.

Re: Bench Seat, Having it Reupholstered

Here's another seat that I'm working on. Doing this one in black vinyl also, but with the deluxe style.

This particular seat is ALREADY SOLD. The other seat, in post #3, is still available.

As I find and salvage more seats, I can actually have one done in your color choice & style. All seats will be done in OEM colors & styles only.

Re: Bench Seat, Having it Reupholstered

This seat is SOLD.

Worked on it a bit today. Got the upper corner wrinkle worked out and the seat belt holes cut in. Installed the seat belt garnishes.

Got a new set of hog pliers delivered today. That made a huge difference in being able to pull the fabric tight and attaching the rings with a lot less effort.

This seat is finally completed. The seat hinge garnishes on this seat are not new. they were in good shape, so I just hit them with a fresh coat of paint.

1) Seat reupholstered
2) Seat rails removed & restored
3) Seatbelt garnishes NEW
4) New screws for the garnishes

1st pic is a BEFORE PHOTO

3) Black Madrid/Black Encore
4) Medium Blue Madrid/Blue Regal
5) Dark Blue Madrid/Blue Regal

All seats can be done in all vinyl, using the same colors, minus the fabric. The are the colors listed as Madrid & Sierra.

Will these fit in a 72 k5 without required additional mods? Are they just plug and play type?

I don't believe they will, but I'm not 100% certain. I haven't seen a seat up close that old, to know for sure what it needs. Maybe if you asked over on the 67-72 forum, someone might know for certain, what it would need. I'm going to guess that the tracks from a 72 would have to be mounted to the bench seat.

Another seat completed. The last photo is the seat BEFORE restoration.
Although this seat is sold, I will be doing more as seats come available. Just let me know what style & colors. Colors are listed above in posts #12 & #13.

Re: Bench Seat, Having it Reupholstered

Hello, I am in need of the rails off of a 80's bench seat. Specifically, mine is a 1986 and the rails I need are identical to the ones you restored on your newly upholstered seats. Do you have an extra set for sale?

Thanks,

Matt

Re: Bench Seat, Having it Reupholstered

Sorry I don't have any extra parts off the seats or seat rails. I restore the rails that come on the seats that I'm restoring.

These seats look great! Any photos of a seat in the deluxe dark saddle? I'll likely need one for my '78 in the next couple of weeks.

No not at this time. I will need to get more seats to restore, which I will have one in the next few weeks. And then a couple more at the end of Dec.

Are you wanting the Deluxe in all vinyl or a combination of vinyl & fabric? In Dark Saddle.

Of course this is just an internet pic, but it would look like this, in all vinyl.

All vinyl. And, yes, that's exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for the pic. I'll be in touch.

Re: Bench Seat, Having it Reupholstered

If you come across a pair of nice matching folding seat latch bolts/strikers I'm looking for a pair. My upholstrey shop lost mine and the 2 they gave me do not match each other.
