exhaust suggestions
I am needing to decide on the exhaust setup for my nearly completed project. Its a 70 gmc swb. Has a mild 350. Any suggestions. I like flowmasters but can get half my money back on dynomax. So I am torn. Videos would help if you have any!
Thanks, Steve

Re: exhaust suggestions
I run Dynomax Super Turbos with a 3" mandrel bent exhaust with an x-pipe, and I like them better than any other muffler. Theyr'e quiet and make tons of power. My .02

Re: exhaust suggestions
I have a regular 2.5" 40 series on my C/10 that are dumped under the bed. It sounds pretty good, and isn't loud at all in the truck going down the road. I have dumped super 40s on my 'Cuda and they have a much deeper sound due to the larger case size. I run dumped one chamber flows on my 67 and 99 Camaros and they have the best sound to me, but they are loud in the car and going down the road. If you want the most aggressive/loud exhaust then one chambers are for you.
cuda View Video on FQuick 67 Camaro 350 with 1 5/8 headers, regular 40 series. This engine/exhaust are now in my truck. View Video on FQuick 67 Camaro with the 406 in my sig. 3", x pipe, dumped one chambers

Re: exhaust suggestions
What is the drawback or benefit of doing duals into a single muffler?
Cuda sounds awesome btw.

Re: exhaust suggestions
Thanks.
I would think it would be more restrictive since you are trying to put twice as much volume through the same amount of space.

Re: exhaust suggestions
I have Dynomax mufflers - they sound like a farm tractor.

Re: exhaust suggestions
I have LT headers to 2.5" duals w/ X-pipe going through Magnaflow mufflers under the bed. It gives it a mellow 70's sound, but has some bite to it under WOT. Here is a video of the truck, ignore the sound of the compressor :-)
Duals to a single muffler is similar to how newer vehicles are setup. That is a more restrictive setup, which will cost a little on power.

Re: exhaust suggestions
Long tube, 2.5 pipes, super44s exit before the rear tires. I love it, nice and deep, not to loud like some suggest, sounds great at all levels

Re: exhaust suggestions
I'm running dual FM series 70's, stock pipe diameter, and a H pipe.
The tailpipe exits behind the rear wheels, and the truck is nice and quiet but sounds like an old car/truck should sound to me. I personally want to hear my drive train, and listen to the radio or people talk while I drive. All a matter of taste.

Re: exhaust suggestions
I'm running long tube headers with Summit Turbo muffler's, 2 1/2" pipe exiting in front of the rear wheels. Nice mellow rumble.
