stepside tool box

Did Chevy make utility looking toolbox sides to hang on a step side with the fenders removed?

I have just seen several of these on here.

From what I understand these boxes bolt to the bedsides.

A person would think that it would have a Regular step side tailgate.

I sure someone will chime in with your answer to that question.

Re: stepside tool box

All the ones I have seen have a regular GM stepside tailgate. If you look for "service body" or "utility bed" you will find more examples.

Re: stepside tool box

Chevy didn't make them, but several specialty manufacturers made utility beds. A buyer would order a cab-only unit, and then the utility bed would be attached to the chassis.
Some had Stepside Chevy tailgates and some were proprietary. Usually the round Guide Stepside taillights were built in to the end panels of the toolboxes.
