Fuel cell

Im thinking of converting to a fuel cell mounted behind the axle but it seems the box supports are in the way. Could I cut them out and weld new pieces in surrounding the cell? Any drawbacks to running a fuel cell other then more often fuel ups and not as safe? I want to run the cell for better distribution of weight and So I have more seat room In the cab. Thanks.
