Where is the oil leak coming from?

Ok, I had my truck parked in the garage for about 3 weeks. Yesterday I noticed a large and almost the size of the truck OIL spill. The garage is level and can't figure where it came from. Any ideas where to start? the drain plug?
thanks in advance..

Assuming engine oil, the only place just sitting, has to be the drain plug gasket.

Keep in mind that a couple ozs on concrete spreads out and looks like BP has spilled in your garage. A drop or two can get really big on concrete. The gasket on the drain plugs are prone to cracking and leakage making messes where ever you go.

Re: Where is the oil leak coming from?

Need to determine if it's engine oil, or transmission fluid (auto or manual?) or maybe something else like coolant or even brake fluid. Has any work been done on the truck recently?

Re: Where is the oil leak coming from?

lay down on the garage floor and put your head directly in the middle of the oil puddle and look up that's a good way to start loookin for the leak

Re: Where is the oil leak coming from?

A little oil will go a long ways on the floor but if it's under all four tires, that's a good leak. Is the engine low on oil? If not, I'd suspect trans tail shaft...

Re: Where is the oil leak coming from?

Stick your finger in it then smell it. Then you'll know, trans or engine. Trans and engine smell significantly different. If have a manual trans, else you can just look at it.

Start by crawling under the truck and look.
