dash plug terminal removal

I want to install a 7 hole-guage dash. Question. How do I get the terminals out of the plug for re-location? What I mean is the wires go into a 12 terminal plug that fits in the back of the cluster. These wires have to be moved from there present postions to new places in the plug , or it's gonna melt down and won't work.. How then does one remove the individual wires, with the terminals still attached to switch them to their now positions. They don't seem to simply pull or push out, so there must be a clip that holds them in there spots. Where and with what does a person press to release these pieces?

It might be the same way as listed in my HEI swap thread over at the FAQ forum for the firewall block?

Re: dash plug terminal removal

There is a tab that sticks up on the terminal that snaps in. I use a small screwdriver or pick to depress it. Push in from front side to depress tha tab. If it does not release try the other side, they arent always in the same way. John
