Need help with stuck tranny

A little background first. 1961 C30, 1 Ton, Long Box Stepside. Was my uncle's, last registered in 1980. Dug it out of the woods a year ago.

Got the 235 running. Got all the wheels free. New master cylinder. New clutch slave cylinder. New line to and from.

Goal is to get it moving under its own power before the long winter.

Issues:
1. Having a real hard time bleeding the slave. I've read where it can be difficult but boy.

2. Thought the clutch was rusted to the flywheel. Did the putty knife thing. Finally put a ratchet strap on the fork and got the clutch to release but man it took a ton of force. Should that be?

3. Transmission is locked. Not sure if it is in gear or not. My wife and her siblings played in it when they were little so who knows what was done to it. I tried to remove the top cover of the trans but the most forward bolt is too close to the tunnel to remove. I know there are posts about lining things up but I can't see or understand how. I'd rather not drop the tranny if there is an easy fix.

Grind away just enough of the front of the transmission tunnel to get to the forward bolt on that cover.

Well got the death wheel out and cut enough to get the top off.

Everything top and bottom is pretty gummed up. The gears in the lower half move but the components that slide, don't.

Same with the top cover. Everything is pretty gummed up.

Everything looks complete and nothing looks broken or loose.

What is the best way to get these internal components clean and free? I've heard people talk of kerosene or diesel fuel.

We all know the correct way is to remove the trans and tear down and rebuild....however...

Pull the drain plug from the trans and let whatever goop is on the trans to seep out. Replace the plug,

Pour some diesel into the trans enough to cover the bottom gears, no higher.

Jack up the rear wheels and spin the tail shaft with the trans in neutral to circulate the diesel....let it soak for a few hours

Drain the diesel out and let it drip out overnight. Add some light engine oil again just enough to cover the lower gears and turn the tail shaft to circulate.

Drain and refill with gear oil to the full level plug.

You should be able to move the gear sliders back and forth now.

While you are at it, check the clutch plate is free of the flywheel and pressure plate surfaces...if its stuck, do yourself a huge favor and pukk the trans and fix is correctly.
