Electric Pusher Fan installed behind radiator

So I walk in front of my truck after going for a little ride and notice that warm air is blowing out from the grill area.

I pop open the hood and notice that whoever had installed the fan (some PO) used a pusher type fan and installed it behind the radiator.

I'm planning on moving it to the front. Am I missing something? Anyone know a legitimate reason why an electric pusher fan would be installed behind the radiator and blow outward?
