Carburator fixed itself?
I had a Quadrajet on my 1968 C10. It started acting up. Every morning the fuel bolwls would be empty. It also had some drivablity issues pop up as I was driving it.
I knew it was a problem so I didn't want to ignore it as the problem was likely to get worse. So I ended up buying 3 more Quadrajets till the 3rd one worked properly. A couple months ago I was changing the fuel filter in the carburator but managed to over tighten the fuel filter fitting, stripping the threads.... Great. So I go back through installing all of the other carburator only to find the orginal one would actually work. After a few days, I remembered why I pulled it off in the first place. I lived with its quirks for a few weeks until the fuel bowl would be emptly again. I was using little plastic bottles to fill the fuel bowl up just to save my battery from cranking so much to fill the carb up. After awhile, I decided to use some Seafoam cleaner. On the drive home, it seemed like the old motor was running better and even maybe a little bit more peppier. I noticed in the next few days it took less gas from the plastic bottles to fill the fuel bowl up. Sure enough, after the fourth day, the fuel bowl was no longer empty overnight. It even drives better and is more responsive. My fuel consuption has even gotten better. I fill up every week on the same day and drive pretty much the same distance every week. It used to take me 13 or 14 gallons to fill up. Lately it has been 9 gallons going the same distance. If you have been having issues with your carburator, its worth a try to try some Seafoam or other fuel system cleaner.

I am a Seafoam believer. It does what they say it does, especially on small engines. It does clean the gunk away.

Sea foam is great I use it a lot in my everyday vehicles the old stuff get straight non E fuel . You must have had some sludge in the system and the sea foam cleaned it out .

could be the well plugs were leaking and(depending on the type o' plug), Seafoam may have conditioned the seals in them. IF they're plugged with epoxy, like most are, then I have no idea
