gas sloshes out around gas cap!

I'm pretty sure my locking gas cap is just BUTTCO. But I'm thinking of replacing it with a new one. Will a vented cap allow gas to spill out when turning hard?
And for those of you who have removed the evap system did you remove the canister and the vent line? I'm thinking of leaving it and use it like a vent.

What works?

Re: gas sloshes out around gas cap!

A new vented cap will both vent, and not let gas slosh out. Local parts stores sell a good Stant brand cap for a good reasonable price. You have to ask them to catalog it though, because it's a behind the counter item not on the blister pack row out in the store.

Be sure and ask for one for a 70 model or so to get a vented one. You don't want one off of a truck with the evap crap.
