Bed side gas filler door
This is probably a stupid question but my truck has one of those screw in filler doors to access my saddle tank. (Yes, they cut a big hole in my bedside) I have finally hooked up my tank and am using it but I have to unscrew the door hinge to access the fuel cap because it is old, beat up, and I have no key to the door part. Does anyone know where you can get these door setups?
I would really like to make it a more solid billet type if possible but I cannot find one anywhere. I have done many searches but am not getting the right word combination. Any ideas? |

Re: Bed side gas filler door
What does it measure? If it is 7.5" x 7.5" square, you can get a nice chrome door from an RV store. Never seen a billet one that is the right size for our trucks.

Re: Bed side gas filler door
Thanks. I will have to measure it when I get home but that sounds about right.

Re: Bed side gas filler door
My local hardware storfe sells keyed replacement locks. If you can't find a new door, just put a new lock into your old one.
There's probably a U-shaped spring metal piece that slides into a groove on each side of the lock cylinder on the backside of the door. Not very much $$$$ at all - maybe 5 bucks or so ......... |
