FAQ GM Restoration Packet Question

I was going through the FAQ and found a post for obtaining a restoration packet (http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=124574)

I called the number and went through the phone tree best I could. I asked the operator to get the packet. After some research she directed me to this site; http://www.gmmediaarchive.com/.

In looking at the archive site it doesn't appear to be the same thing described in the FAQ post. Has anyone recently tried to obtain the restoration packet? If you have can you post the information?

Re: FAQ GM Restoration Packet Question

Ouch, Yeah that is a 6 year old thread... I haven't heard of any additional information recently.

Good luck...

additional information... GM charged I think $50 for the packet now... not even worth 1/4 of that IMO.

Re: FAQ GM Restoration Packet Question

Thanks Longhorn, that was your post originally. I thought $50 was kind of steep but was willing to pay it to add it to my collection. If you say it isn't worth it then I'm going to pass. The gal I spoke with told me she would call me back Friday to see if I was able to get what I needed. I'll pass along the cost/value tidbit. Maybe if they hear it enough they will lower the cost.

I agree. It used to be free and I missed out on that. Now that they want the money, I'll take a pass.

Re: FAQ GM Restoration Packet Question

I had ordered all 6 years back before GM was in such a bind and started charging for this service.
There is some very good info in the packets, however, personally, I feel they are worth no more than 20 bucks, and that would only be a couple years. The packets are incomplete, and a couple years are thinner than a car craft magizine. (if memory serves, 72 was one of them)
I think someone here had scanned a bunch of the pages and posted them, but I can't remember if this is fact, or someone was just talking about doing it.
