Re: Value help 1969 c10

I'm not an expert, but if it runs good and has no major cancer (rust) or issues then probably $5-$6K...give or take....however if it's a 4x4 then it's a K10 not a C10....also it doesn't have the original engine, not a huge deal if you dont care....but just wanted to let you know....it's got the base GM replacement 350

Re: Value help 1969 c10

Something between nothing and a lot.

First off, if it is a "C10" then it is not originally 4WD. You need to check the VIN to see if the truck was originally 4WD or if someone did the conversion themselves.

Also, how tired is that motor, how many miles, etc.

Is that the original color or was the color changed?

The rockers look dry but were they replaced and what rust is on the body in other places?

A few things that _detract_ from value that I see are that the doors have been cut for speakers, which means that the dash has also probably been cut for a radio. Also it looks like the paint is discolored on the driver's door or is that just a shadow?

Sorry but there just isn't enough information (for me at least) to give you a value idea.

Someone from your area can probably tell you what a clean K10 of that vintage would sell for. You can go from there.

Re: Value help 1969 c10

I don't think it's a 4x4 since I don't see the controls...

the mirrors look weird too....maybe some kind of later model mirrors...

Re: Value help 1969 c10

Yeah the 4x4 have been converted it has a Dana 60 on front and 10.5 14 bolt on back.

As for the paint not original, so that should clear up the c10 k10 and Vin matching... What is the value now

Also how can you tell between original 350 and a newer one?

Re: Value help 1969 c10

It's really hard to say on the value. Don't go off of what I said I was just giving you an estimate based on the condition which is very hard to tell from these pictures. I'd have to be there looking at it in person to make a judgement.

As for the engine, the dead give away is the goodwrench 350 logo valve covers. But if he had put the original valve covers back on, and the original intake (the intake is not original either) then you'd have to look at the engine code to find out. Also these engines would be orange from the factory (block color). Also the alternator is on the wrong side to my best knowledge.

Get some better pics and go drive it and feel out the seller and get as much info as possible then report back.....i'm sure it won't sell too quick

Yes, from the pictures I was thinking surface rust. I'll have to take a look at everything this weekend. Can some one tell me, all the locations for matching numbers? And where and what I am looking for?

frame area near steering box will have partial vin
drivers door jam blue sticker with vin
metal plate with gross weight in drivers door will have vin
glove box SPID sticker

All these should match

Do you know the vin number yet?

Re: Value help 1969 c10

As I said before, we need better pictures and more info to determine a value. It may very well be in bad shape. I see some areas of concern in the photos but I can't tell for sure. The photos are very bad. Do you know what the seller wants for it?

Don't let anyone discourage you man. Go look at it and make up your mind after that. I've seen much rougher trucks get bought and sold. Prices are all over the place. A truck is worth what your willing to pay and what the seller is willing to sell it for.

A lot of people who value trucks dirt cheap are the same people that want to over price them when they're the ones selling.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion so I'm not looking to start an argument.

This did not offend me, I just wanted to find out the reason he thought this way about the truck. It's all good.
