Filling Transfer case
I want to change the oil in my transfer case to synthetic. (72 K10) There are two square drive plugs on the back of the case one near the bottom, and one about halfway up. Looks like a fill hole and drain hole. Correct? But I removed the upper plug and oil came pouring out, so I put it back in. Is my case overfilled? or is there another location to fill from? What is the proper level?

Was it gear oil or gear and tranny fluid? If only gear oil then somebody probably filled it with the rear end in the air. On level ground you fill it at the halfway plug until it starts coming out, then put the plug back in.

Could the TH350 trans be leaking fluid into the tranfer case?
