Re: just wondering

I think people shy away from doing this because of the intake problem. My 98 has had to have two intake gaskets in just under 100,000 miles. The last time it happened it dumped all the antifreeze into the oil. Lucky that I caught it in time. I don't remember what exact years this was a problem on, but I know I wouldn't put a 98 in my truck. Just my 2 cents.

Re: just wondering

the one in my tahoe has 176000 miles on it. have not had a problem with it no leaks so far, and it tows great. Is the 5.3 just a better motor.
