Not New member just former lurker

I've been a member for about a year and a half and have been reading these boards for longer than that. But I guess I'm on the shy side and didn't know how to post pics. I've been trying to resize my pics to post but the quality went way down after I did it. I did it with MS paint under view then stretch/skew and I don't even know if it worked. Any way thanks to you all that contribute here. I've gained quite a bit of knowledge reading and it's helped me through a tough time in my life. In the last 2 years I lost the ability to walk and my wife of ten years from divorce. Any way just want to say thanks and if there are any other lurkers out there, come on in, it's nice in here. Here's your pics blk81shrty hope they come through.

Nice truck! If you want to post bigger pics go to www.imageshack.us , click browse and find the image you want to put up, select it, and where it asks if you want to resize the image, select message board size (640x480). To put them on this website, heres what you do, copy the "Direct link" and paste it here in between these tags: [img]image link here minus the space i put at the end of the g in the second tag. Or, alternately, you can just copy the "Direct link" and then click on the little mountian in the yellow box thats in the quick reply box, and paste the link there, and press ok.

That is a super nice looking truck!

I like the stance and the color. Sounds like you have been through an awful lot lately, hopefully things will be on the "Up and Up"

Anyway, Sweet Truck!

Re: Not New member just former lurker

Thanks for the pic advice. Maybe the pic info you shared would be good to put in the FAQ. I looked there but didn't find anything. Also thanks for all the kind words. It's all good now though. Don't feel sorry for me. I have two wonderful little boys, a job I like, a home and a truck I like to drive when it's not raining here. HA

I don't feel sorry for ya, 79CL. I just thank you for giving a bunch of guys (and probably a few girls, too) inspiration. Although the truck is beautiful, that's not what I'm talking about.

Looking forward to reading your posts.

WOW! That's what I call a grand entry. Since you have been hanging around so long, you already know I love the truck without me saying it.

I'll let y'all in on a little secret. If you only post one pic at a time, the forum system will resize them for you. It takes a while for them to load, but it will if you go slow.

Re: Not New member just former lurker

Well I bought the truck off ebay and drove to Vegas to pick it up and the tranny shelled in Phoenix so I bought a Jasper 400 for it and that cost me 2g's installed and shortly after I got home the engine blew. I put in a rebuilt 350. and that was another 2500. I believe they both have about 4500 miles on them and about a year left on the warranties. I put new wheels and tires on it plus the trip to pick it up an I now have a truck that I have sunk 12g into and it's worth what about 6? I'm almost sick about the whole thing and have it currently listed on craigslist austin for 8500 with no takers yet. I battle with selling it every day. I'm back and forth on the issue. Financially it makes more sense to sell it and catch up on debts but I'm gonna lose my ass if I do. I've always loved these trucks. I had a 79 that I drove in high school that came factory with a 454. It was a sweet truck too. This one has 4.11's so my mpg last trip to Austin was 9.5. So it sits 95% of the time. It needs a few things like most trucks this old and it blows not being able to do anything to it. It has a newer model interior which is very nice but I want to take it back to the blue interior with the correct dash and door panels. Right now it has suburban door panels with the 4 window swithches which I don't like. I can probably sell the interior at some point and make some money back in putting the new interior in. Wow your probably thinking I didn't mean that detailed! Anything else I missed just ask. I'll post some more pics soon on the interior and such. Thanks for the compliments

Re: Not New member just former lurker

Keeping it and not doing anything to it is still better than sold it and regret it everyday. If you like your truck that much just keep it. If it makes you feel any better I've been dumping an assload of money in my 72 that I can never get out. Another good reason to keep it!
