Stainless Shields on Lower Bedsides

What are those shields on the lower bedside toward the wheel well called and are they still available from anyone and if so who? I think they were for protection of chips and damage from gravel thrown up by the tires.

Re: Stainless Shields on Lower Bedsides

So very cool! Thank you for the great pic bhc41051. I'm building yet another 75 drop top Blazer and I thought I had a set to put on and couldn't find in my shed. I just think they give a final touch to the bedside. Thats great that you had the instructions too.

Re: Stainless Shields on Lower Bedsides

I always thought they were great rust incubators. Trapping and holding debris and moisture.

Re: Stainless Shields on Lower Bedsides

instead of screwing holes thru your bed, use some 3M auto tape, sticky both sides.
i used it all over my truck, bed caps, t.gate protector, even my k30 emblems. could'nt bring myself to punch holes threw my new paint.
always wondered why GM put them on the front of the wheelwell, all the chips i get are behind the wheelwell...

I also have a set of these minus the GM box. Instructions & rivets are still with them. I put them on my truck for a real short period of time but, ended up taking them back off. I always liked the look as well. I might sell them if your interested OP.

Re: Stainless Shields on Lower Bedsides

my 84 GMC has the remainder of what looks like stick on shields that were clear originally. I need to get that stuff off, and eventually I'll get some of these. Too bad someone doesn't make them in plain steel so they can be painted to match the body color.
