72 door screws

Does anyone know where you can find the screws that go in the doors below the vent window on the 72's? I have looked in several catalogs under the door and window and never see them listed or mentioned. All I need are ones the look decent, they don't half to be original. Thanks

Re: 72 door screws

I think those are the ones that hold the vent window into the door, the ones i am talking about actually hold the outside and inside of the door together right under the vent window, one per side and are only on the 72 model doors. Thanks

Re: 72 door screws

Does anyone have a picture of one not installed so i can try to find something that will work? Somehow that last owner must of removed both of them and threw them away.

Re: 72 door screws

Those can be some of the hardest things to find- and they should be the most common Check with Randy- teeitup, Dennis - Sharpie or tom Korenik as they part alot of trucks and should have what you are looking for.

Re: 72 door screws

Well I do know that they are a phillips head sheetmetal screw with a funky looking washer that fits over the head to catch in the door. Not sure what size or length they are, they are fairly long from what I can remember though.

Re: 72 door screws

Yeah i figured they were a sheet metal trim style of screw. I guess finding a washer or something will be the trick. Thanks

Re: 72 door screws

Yes they are sheet metal type about 2 1/2 long I think and a stainless cup type bushing

Re: 72 door screws

My 71 Blazer has the screws and they are the original doors. A hard rubber insert goes in the hole in the door. The screw is about 2 3/16" long and it is like a number 6 or 8 size screw. It has a very slight oval head - almost flat. It reminds me of the lower dash AC outlet screws, but I haven't had time to compare. Here are a couple of photos:

Re: 72 door screws

Here is a pic of the door screw and bushing.i did a google search and came up with a couple places that had the screw or one close enough, but havent found the bushing yet, altho i think a person could make one from something like sink water inlet pipe and flair the end, unless you just got to have oem , and nos...myself dd is good enough....

Re: 72 door screws

Maybe you could just flare a piece of brake line and clean it up. The screw looks easy enough to find. Thanks
