Serial Number
My dad recently bought a 52 Chevy 3100 on eBay, needless to say he got screwed. I'd like someone to check the vin/serial number as that is the only way he can get help through eBay. It has a serial plate on it that reads 14KS-D 1496. Just want to check and make sure that number is actually from a 52 3100. If anyone needs anything else off of it let me know and I'll look. I'm normally on the 67-72 side and don't have a clue about the 47-59's. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Serial Number
Here is one link I've used in the past http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com...sto/52057.html
It came from here http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com...o/52index.html The 52 truck stuff is on the right hand side of the page. It appears that the tag is from a 52 truck built in Baltimore that was a one ton built in April. When these trucks were built and sold new they were usually titled using the engine number as the serial number rather than the number on the body. I say usually but not always. And one needs to remember that the truck may have had an engine or cab change over the years. |
