Thumbs up GM Tilt wheel info!!!

Here is a little tid bit of info I have come across that may help others also.
It shows the basic how to tear a tilt a part and put it back together.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: GM Tilt wheel info!!!

Looks like that manual is from '63. Our tilts are substantially different. Our lock shoes are side by side on the top, they don't have springs on them and don't have seperate tension springs but they do have extension springs. There is also no rubber washer or collapsible spacer on the outer bearing nor a snap ring. Ours use a nut for bearing preload. The manual also shows tapered bearings and ours have ball bearings.

Randy is more knowledgeable than me on this subject I know.
I did say it a basic info for the GM tilts though. Yes it's for the 63 and up tilts. Not really meaning it was for the trucks but for most of us guy's we own multi vehicles. I'm installing a 64 SS Impala tilt in my 64 as we speak. So thought it was a good thing to pass along for the ones who would have use for it.
