Hey all
Hey guys!! It's been a long time since I've been on the boards. How's everyone doing????
I'm still alive. My truck has been on hold as I've been trying to get my life back to some sort of normality. I just moved and will be moving again in about a month (hopefully). A friend and I are going in on a real estate investment (a single family townhouse) and we're just waiting for construction to finish. They say it should be June 15th. Then we will stay in it for 2 years...maybe less, but we need to look into the Capital Gains charges to see what type of conditions we'll need to meet in order to sell within 2 years. The way real estate is going here (and everywhere) you can't go wrong with any purchase. Some areas in Southern Oregon have seen up to 60% increases in prices this year compared to last year. The way it stands now, we already have $30k equity in this place we're purchasing now which is in the next rural area that developers are snatching up to build on. Let's see...to catch you all up to date...my divorce was final January 12th. The ex was engaged December 31st to an internet date. Unengaged in January. Engaged again in March to another internet date whom he's actually met in person this time. They're to get married June or July and he'll move to her town about an hour and a half away. So there has been a lot of stress in my life with trying to protect our 4 year old daughter with his lack of common sense as he wants to involve her in parts of the relationship that she shouldn't even be involved in until they've been seeing each other for some time. We've had to meet with a mediator to resolve some issues over the choices he's made but I think we're resolved for now. I had to let go of a lot of my worries and just be concerned about doing what's right in my life and not worrying about his choices. I'm also seeing someone. He's a great guy who's into off-roading, Jeeps, Chevys, and loves riding quads. Our first date was taking our trucks to the ponds here and me getting my truck stuck up to my doors in a pond. We're taking things slow because we have both been burned in the past so we're just enjoying our time and seeing where it leads. Both my car and my truck were broken into at my old house. CD players stolen and a digital camera. Dash bezels in both vehicles were broken in the process. Police didn't do anything about it. I've replaced both bezels and am working on replacing the CD players. Other than the break in, the truck is doing great. I've had no problems with it in a long time and I plan on finally getting some stuff done on it this summer. I'd like to paint the interior, rebuild the front end and start getting the exterior ready to paint next summer. The LED project has been on hold. With everything else happening, I just didn't have the time, energy, or desire to work on them. The interest is starting to come back again but I don't know what I'm going to do next. I bought a quad. A yellow 2004 Honda 300EX. It's a blast. We took the bikes out to the Oregon dunes last month for a 4 day weekend. Loads of fun. That's about it. I'll back in more often now that things have calmed down some.

I am really new blood on "this board" but also want to welcome you back. I was on GMC Pauls board for years till I had some health problems, gave the '70 Chevy 1/2 Ton Short bed to my son-in-law. So now I am on this board but do have the '70 Burb and the '86. It is hard to understand your ex getting engaged on the net and not seeing the girl in person. Sounds like he really wanted to get married again. You are smart to take you time. Well, I am not going to get into this, just wanted to welcome you back to this board. Hope all works out for you.

Cool to hear from you again! Sorry about all your troubles- it sucks when it's out of your hands and you pay for someone else's mistakes...
Moving must be in the air. I'm headed back "home" to Tidewater myself. I'm off to Chesapeake, VA. Over half of my relatives are still in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach. Even my folks are building a house in Williamsburg. I'm excited to be back with family again. I've been out in the far corners of the world for too long... Again, it's great to have you back! You always contributed a lot to the board.
