Need a overall front end measurement, C20.
I am going to pick up a 1981 C20 and I need to know if it will fit on my trailer; I don't want to travel all the way there and have it not fit. Does anyone know the outside of tire to outside of tire measurement of the front of a C20 with stock wheels and tires?

I don't have the outside tire to outside tire measurement, but from outside fender to outside fender is 79.6". BTW, the wheelbase of a long bed is 131.5" with a overall length of 211.8". Oh, and a curb weight of just over 4,000 lbs.

Thanks for the reply. My trailer measures 75" wide between the rails, so it may fit.

Yep, make sure you take some pizza slicer wheels / tires to fit on there, helps a lot with getting them on!

My '77 C20 has stock 16.5 inch wheels with stock-size 9.50R16.5s on the front. If you want a measurement, PM me.

I have aftermarket (wider) wheels on the truck, the outside thread to outside thread is about 75" and sidewall to sidewall is about 77". With stock wheels, you may just make it as long as the trailer fenders (if it has any) don't get in the way.

If it is a tight fit ,roll the window down first, you may not be able to open the truck doors once it is on, the door(s) may hit fenders on the trailer.
Air up the trailer tires to about 45# Trailer weight AND truck weight!! Good luck and make sure that it is tied down well! Just my .02 CCDually Last edited by GMC1tondually4dr; 06-02-2005 at 05:19 PM. |

Thanks everyone for the replies. The truck has stock 16" wheels so it should fit.
