Door chopping - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I am gonna start chopping some door top's off for my blazer does anyone have any help full hint's as to how thier's were done. Anyone happen to have any pic's of the chopping process.

I have done this many times. Make a templet of the cuts on your current Blazer doors and just use a hack saw. Take your time and make sure not to cut too much. It is actually real easy, if it is possible take the extra re-enforcement off of the latch area to transfer to the new doors.

Its really easy, you can do both doors in an afternoon. It REALLY helps if you have the other door right next to you to take measurements from. Make a rough cut, then lay some tape down and lay out the measurements from the bad door. Keep filing away until the trim pieces fit on the new door nicely.
