Factory exhaust size? 1971
I'm in the market to replace the muffler on my 71 GMC and I'm wondering what size the inlet needs to be to hookup with the factory piping. Its currently pouring the rain here so I can't get outside to do any measuring. Its a small block truck if that makes any difference. Thanks to anyone who might be able to help me out.

Just had my exhaust done from exhaust manifold to tailpipe. My truck is a 72 with the original 350 and ramhorn exhaust manifolds and the shop recommended and used 2 1/4 exhaust pipe from front to back. I had duals installed too.

From a few threads I've looked at it sounds like 2.25 is the factory sizing but I never found any threads that addressed in directly. Hopefully someone out there has replaced just the muffler and knows for sure.
