Re: s10 v8

this was the second month in and it dont look to pretty under everything lol ill try to get some pics of how it is soon i havent been able to work on it lately cause i have to wait for my dad to be off of work for once to help me out with taking out the engine, were gunna stick to the fuel injected which leaves me with another question, my dad keeps saying all we need to change is the computer for the 350 and be able to re-use the wire harness but i looked at all the connections and i think we would have to get a new wire harness so if anyone knows anything about either sides of that could you help me please?

Re: s10 v8

I once did a swap on an early 90's full size. It originally had a 4.3 and we swapped in a 5.0. If I recall correctly, the computer was a direct plug-in, some of the sensor wires had to be extended. I think that was it. I did this swap approximately 10 yrs ago. So there may be some things I have forgot. If I am incorrect I'm sure someone here will correct me.

There is also an s-10 section on here. You may want to check it out, you might find your answers there.

Oh yeah, Welcome to the board!!!!!!!!!

Re: s10 v8

alright here is how it sits as of now, ive been looking into body swaps and if i can get enough notes i might swap out the body with a 58' apache, that would be the **** haha im pumped on taking the motor out i have the wire harness marked pics from when i was taking it off on my phone and ill post those if anyones interested...right now im working on getting the garage cleaned up so ill be able to move the engine hoist around the only thing that sucks is that i have to repair the floor pans before ill be able to start the motor because the two front cab mounts are completely rusted out im just going to shape some sheet metal then i have some steel squared tubing that im going to use for the mounts on the floor so nothing pretty but will work for now because either way i plan on getting a new body for it. one thing i have observed from our 84 blazer is that the 350 in it really torques the body so ill have to do really good work on the cab mounts so they dont snap when i start it

Re: s10 v8

havent been able to get much done lately between school and helping the my girl around the house but i gave up on the doors that i was going to use because they wouldnt work right plus they were already rusted bad from sitting on the ground outs side for a few years so started putting the old door back together and apperintly when my dad and his buddy moved all my stuff to fix the garage door they lost my clips, rod, and bolt for mounting the inside handle!!atleast i dont need any of that right at the moment.. got the door put back on and it lines up, just cant shut it or else there is no way of opening it lol

Re: s10 v8

well im using what im learning from my new job to my advantage and starting some body work on the s10. i still need to get more coarse sand paper to do more but im going to patch up this little part in a effort to save the whole box, all i did was poke out all the rust spots so i have a rough idea of what i need to fix
