Bell housing Questions

I have my 79 k0. 350 th350 203. Im going 465/205 setup but am wanting a hydraulic clutch. I am wonderin if there's a difference between hyd. And mechanical bell housin? And if anyone has a hyd one to sell i am deffinetly in need!!!! Been checkin the classifieds but can't find one. Thanks in Advance!

Yes, there is a difference in the bellhousings. The juice clutch ones are specific...and often rather expensive. I believe, however, that a bracket is available to bolt onto your mechanical bellhousing to convert it to juice.

Get a normal bellhousing and one of these brackets for the hydraulic slave cylinder.

Much cheaper than a true hydraulic bellhousing. I've been looking for 6 months, cash in hand, for a decent priced hydraulic SM465 bellhousing and haven't found anything cheaper than the 250 dollar eBay ones. I am probably about to just buy that 40 dollar bracket above and a cheap mechanical linkage bellhousing.

That's not the one I'm talking about. My truck is an 88 model R30 with SM465 and the bellhousing is much different than that. It has a built in bracket on the driver's side to bolt the slave cylinder to.

I watch like a hawk. The first time a 100 dollar or less one pops up anywhere, I'm on it, assuming it's the style I need. All it will be is an eBay blur as I hit the pay button.

Problem is, while it's stock on my truck and mine needs replacing due to cracks in it, all of the rock crawler guys like them for building their trucks, so there's a good number of people in the market for them.

I'm no bellhousing guru, but it doesn't have the pedestal on the side of it for the slave cylinder. That tells me it's a later style and will require an internal slave cylinder setup.

The spare in my barn is the later passenger side slave bellhousing, though still set up for SM465.

That makes me feel better. At least I know my perfect bellhousing isn't sitting unused half way across the country somewhere. I'm definitely looking for the one with driver side slave mount.

Y does it matter the side slave mount? Clearence issues? Is the driver side better in any way?

The good driver's side one is in my truck.
