I need a new gas tank 1980

what are the good brands for a gas tank. I see Spectra and doorman alot, are they good ? Is a 1980 short box 1/2 ton

dont buy a gas tank fro these local chain stores advance sells one that i had to change yearly due to pinhole leaks that developed in the metal i bought one from amazon that is way better even the difference in the metal was noticible

I,m in Can. so we only have NAPA and a big chain called Lordco.

I just put a pair of Spectras on my truck this past month. Seem to be good quality and they were a perfect fit. Mister UPS brought em to me.
And they're made in Canada btw...

I just put a spectra in my Square. Now I did paint it and I used Rust Oleum rusty metal primer to give the tank some protection again rust then I top coated it with Rust Oleum Silver Paint.

did you use brush on or spray paint ?

I ended up using this stuff on both of mine. Talk about tough, but you pay for it... $$$
