Gas pedal for 68. WTF?

I have searched everywhere and the only info I can find is how to put a later pedal assembly in or places that sell new rubber. I just want to repair my factory pedal and don't know how. Right now all there is a metal nub at the end of the rod. Looks like the pedal has been gone for awhile. Where can I get what I need to repair it? And am I the only one who ever asked this question?

Re: Gas pedal for 68. WTF?

sounds to me like all you need is the pedal itself. it will mount to the 2 ball studs mounted on the floor and rest on the lever
pedals are always on sale on the for sale forum

It just rests on the lever? No other mounting point besides the floor?

I'm pretty sure my studs are broken off. There is a sharp piece of metal poking through the rubber (full rubber floor instead of carpet) around where I assume they would mount.

Here is a picture of one of the ball studs posted in another thread by member "Gromit". When you get new ones installed the accelerator pedal snaps onto them and the pedal just rests on the arm that hangs down.....

Re: Gas pedal for 68. WTF?

Great, thanks. Glad to know it's that simple. Anyone know where to buy these? All of the resto companies have them for a few bucks but want 10-ish dollars to ship. Amazon has them but they are 7-10 a piece!!

If I can get em cheap I'll just buy this pedal from ebay which fits a million old GM vehicles and appears to be the correct one for my year burb.
