I am so excited!

I just drove my new toy home!

Everyone, I would like you to meet her (yet to be named):

I drove her 53 miles from point of purchase to my house. Runs like a dream.

Only issues were 1) a pretty severe pull to the left when braking and 2) I didn't want to stop driving.

I will get out and take more pics tomorrow, just wanted to share as soon as possible.

Re: I am so excited!

VIN is CE134A112167 - I think this means:

C: 4x2
E: V8 gas
1: 1/2 ton
34: Fleetside? (not sure)
A: Assembled in Atlanta
1: 1971
12167: ID or Serial number of actual truck?

Let me know if this is correct, oh wise ones!

Re: I am so excited!

Great looking truck! We chased a pull in my brother's '68 Camaro SS for a long time. Turned out to be a failed rubber brake line on the front. Inside came loose and created a block that prevented any pressure from activating that side. And you can't see this. So if you can't find anything else, think about new rubber brake lines all around.

Re: I am so excited!

Here are some more pics from this morning:
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...1&l=7df6b741d3

After driving her a bit, there are only a few things that I am going to need to track down and change/fix:

1) the hard driver's side pull when I brake
2) the wheels have got to go ... I want either stock, or if you guys have suggestions, I am all ears.
3) The Q-jet needs some tinkering.
4) a little rust here and there, but nothing that jumps out at me
5) new steering wheel? not sure, I kind of like the stock wheel.

She drives like a dream, other than some small burbles from what seems to be a carb in need of a rebuild.

Re: I am so excited!

Fldawg - I'm down here in the Cove, on Macarthur Ave. Glad to have someone local I can chat with about this!

I picked her up in Blountstown. I think I stole her, at only 5K.

Re: I am so excited!

just chat me up if you have any questions, a good set of rally wheel or torque thrust wheels, the color is good for that truck, if the interior looks as goo as the outside yougot a good deal , as far as the pulling probelm it could be a bad rubber brake line or caliper probelm don't know till you get into it. any question just holler maybe when can hook up
