Are all Chevy 4X4 trucks high to get into?

Are all Chevy 4X4 trucks high to get into? Have a bad back and it seems most later models are equipped with some sort of step to get into. That type does present some difficulty for me - getting in and out. Maybe the older years were a bit lower. I would imagine tire sizes would make a difference also!

Not sure. But I am 6' 3/4" and I can just barely get into my 84 K10 with out a step. I always have to adjust myself in the seat and fix the floormat.

I'm a sawed-off critter and I've been in & out of my truck about 25,000 times or so. Never thought it was too high....

That is way to general (subjective) of a question to get a reasonable answer....

Re: Are all Chevy 4X4 trucks high to get into?

I have a`92 k3500.The first thing I did was strip the silly 4x4 stickers off.I`ve had many people get in and as if it`s a 4wd.I point to the transfer case shifter and say,"Yes".
The 88-98s are anything but high.The`99-ups look like they are nose-diving,they are so low.
it doesn`t matter what make, all 4wds are a tad higher than it`s 2wd counterpart. The late model 4wds are mandated to have bumpers low enough to align with cars(rolleyes), so they are all lower these days. You can put steps and grab handles on anything. Here`s my`92 fresh and new:

Re: Are all Chevy 4X4 trucks high to get into?

well, actually, later model chevy 4x4 trucks sit lower than the competition, thanx to their independant front suspension. if it is still too low, you can get molded running boards, or nerf bars.

Re: Are all Chevy 4X4 trucks high to get into?

Why all the lifted trucks and stories on how it`s no problem to get into your trucks?Obviously the thread starting member isn`t any of you guys.I can take hotter hot sauce than most. But,if someone asked me to recommend a mild hot sauce I`d recommend what "they" are wanting, not what "I" can handle.

I could have shown this...

...and talked how I had to lift my 78 year old mother into it.A lifted truck isn`t for eveyone, you know.
